About the event
Free class to give you a taste of learning to dance to Blues music, especially focusing on close embrace hold.
If you like the taster you can then sign up to a block of 5 classes each Tuesday.
Arrive for 6:45. The class is from 7pm to 8pm, with a half-hour practice time afterwards.
Blues dancing comes from the same tradition as blues music. It is an improvised dance, which has a relaxed, grounded feel. Here's an example, but there are so many styles of blues: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAFb0m1vk_k
No previous dance experience needed. No partner needed.
I'll keep the class small, so I can give lots of individual attention to students. The venue is a short walk from central Hexham, with space for parking.
Social dancing is fun, sociable, creative.
Melissa Davy has years of experience of teaching dance, and is really excited to be teaching this class.
The class is a good option for complete beginners, or for people who want to refresh the basics.
You need to book in advance. To find out more or book your place email melissadavy@gmail.com
If you can't make this date or time, let me know and I'll see if I can organise an event at a time that suits you.
