Fancy learning to dance?
Blues dancing is a great place to start. It’s relatively easy to pick up. It is an improvised dance, which has a relaxed, grounded feel, which can be dance solo or with a partner. Blues dancing comes from the same tradition as blues music. It is an improvised, partner dance, which has a relaxed, grounded feel. No previous dance experience needed. Here's an example, but there are so many styles of blues: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAFb0m1vk_k
FIRST TIME FREE: If you’ve never been before email me (melissadavy@gmail.com) in advance and I’ll put you on the guest list for a free ticket.
Cost £7.50 (£5 students or if money is tight)
It’s a drop in class, and you don’t need to book in advance. It will run each Wednesday during school term time.
Melissa Davy has years of experience of teaching dance, and are really excited to be teaching this class.
Arrive sometime between 6pm (when the venue opens) and 6:15pm, for an hours class from 6:20pm. I’ll then be teaching an intermediate class for an hour, but you're welcome to chill out for an hour, maybe grab a drink from the bar, then join us again at 8:30 for an hours practice time.
Getting there: It’s super easy by public transport as it’s very close to Newcastle train station. If coming by car, I suggest parking at the bottom of Westgate Rd (NE4 6AA).
